Vin D isn’t broken and we’re not chasing a fix. We’re upgrading on purpose to see what a Stage 3 P pump and an Aggressor 67-9 single can really do on a clean street tune and a hard pull.
Inside the shop we pull the 62-9 and drop on the 67 millimeter compressor while keeping the tight 9 cm housing and the 76 by 67 ten blade turbine, then we install our street tuned Stage 3 pump with 0.055 delivery valves and built in advance. Timing is set at 24 degrees at the base and climbs around 30 to 31 degrees at full rack so smoke stays in check, EGT stays happy, and the truck holds manners for daily use and towing. This is straight diesel tuning you can feel, not fluff, and it shows why matching air and fuel is everything for a Cummins 12 valve.
On the road Vin D drives clean and spools quick for the size, then the dyno test does the talking. We trim fuel until the curve shines at 625 horsepower, lean on the gate for 640, and the best hit lands 666 horsepower with boost in the high forties to low fifties while torque lays out flat in the high 1,300 to 1,400 foot pound range. The combo of the 0.055 valves and our Power Jets injectors balances fueling so the single turbo makes real power without turning into a smoke show. We even pick up a little with the air filter off, and the data points to the next move, a ported head to lower pressure ratio and carry power better, which is why this setup has a clear path to 700 plus on a single.
