The NMU70G56-01 Valair Heavy Duty Upgrade Clutch for your 2005.5-2018 Dodge 5.9L/6.7L Cummins outperforms the OEM clutch available from your dealer. This is due to superior materials, a high-quality manufacturing process, and rigorous quality control. Some companies also offer higher plate loads as an option to the standard plate, enhancing the clutch’s holding ability beyond that of its OE counterpart.

This clutch is best suited for trucks with no or only minor power modifications. It is ideal for light towing at stock HP levels and is designed for use in 2005.5 and newer G56 6-speed transmissions.

G56 Gear Rollover Facts:

When converting a G56 transmission from a dual-mass flywheel to a solid-mass flywheel, gear rollover is inevitable. This noise, often described as sounding like marbles in the transmission, can be heard when the vehicle is idling or under load at low RPMs. It is completely normal.

Gear rollover noise is caused by reverse engine spikes and can often be significantly reduced by changing the transmission oil or addressing inadequate engine components (e.g., misfiring injectors, FCA issues, or improper electronic programming).

The transmission manufacturer, Mercedes-Benz, recommends using Mobil Delvac Synthetic Transmission Fluid 50. At Valair Inc., we suggest completely draining the transmission and refilling it with 7 quarts. Since only 6 quarts can be added through the fill hole, the final quart must be filled through the shift tower.
