The 6.0 Power Stroke community has been asking for this one—ported iron heads vs. aluminum heads. Are Kill Devil Diesel Icon aluminum heads really the best, or do Power Driven Diesel CNC-ported iron heads outperform them? We've seen a lot of debate over flow numbers, weight savings, and durability, so we’re putting these heads to the test with real-world data.
For this shootout, we’re testing and comparing:
Power Driven Diesel Stage 1 CNC-Ported Iron Heads
Kill Devil Diesel Icon As-Cast Aluminum Heads
Power Driven Diesel Stage 2 Hot Street CNC-Ported Iron Heads
ProMax Aluminum Heads
We’ll be comparing weight, valve springs, cost, and most importantly, flow numbers to see which head truly performs the best. Using our SuperFlow 1020 flow bench, we’ll measure intake and exhaust flow across different valve lifts, checking how these heads stack up against each other and against a stock 6.0 Power Stroke head.
Key Questions We Answer:
Do aluminum heads really flow better than ported iron heads?
How much weight savings do aluminum heads offer?
Are the performance gains worth the cost?
Which cylinder head is the best choice for towing, daily driving, or high-performance builds?
Before we drop the results, leave a comment with your prediction—do you think aluminum heads will dominate, or is ported iron still the best choice?
By the end of this video, you’ll have all the data you need to choose the right 6.0 Power Stroke cylinder head for your truck. Subscribe for more in-depth diesel performance testing and let us know which heads you’d like us to test next.
