We strapped our trucks to the dyno, tore up the dirt in Richfield, and even saw a record shattering 4,157 horsepower hit that blew the crowd away.
This Power Driven Diesel video takes you behind the scenes at Diesels on the Mountain in Richfield, Utah, where Will, Josh, Meyer, and Todd showed up with fresh builds, new parts, and plenty of firepower. From testing our latest Aggressor 98 millimeter turbo to making last minute engine swaps, the shop was wide open getting trucks ready to dominate the dirt drags and dyno. Events like this matter because they put all the talk to the test, with real world diesel performance proven in front of the community that lives it.
The action kicks off with Will bolting on the brand new 98 millimeter Aggressor turbo, a ball bearing setup with stainless housing that not only looks sharp but holds up under serious boost. He straps Big Black to the rollers, fresh air filter and all, to see what the new setup can really do. From there we dive into Uncle Rico 5.0, a unique 6.7 Cummins block with a 12 valve head, built to solve the block cracking problems that killed five previous motors. Thicker decks, Siamese bores, better ring seal, and a Colt cam help push it from the mid 1400 horsepower range toward that elusive mid 1500 mark while keeping reliability in check.
Josh jumps back into the mix, strapping down his 2007 to chase consistency before hitting the track. He digs into Bosch tuning, smoke maps, and how moving fuel tables around changes throttle response and drivability. You will see the trial and error of live dyno tuning, adjusting timing, and learning where the truck wants to run clean. It is a side of diesel performance most folks never get to see up close. Later, the nitrous setup gets tested, showing how fuel only limits get pushed when the spray comes online. It is all about finding the sweet spot between big power and keeping rods inside the block.
Then comes the highlight, Josh rolling up for the Super Unlimited dyno class. The crowd was buzzing already, but when the screen flashed 4,157 horsepower, jaws dropped. Even corrected, that number was wild, and his raw pull still set the highest record ever on that dyno. The place went crazy, and it is a reminder why these events matter. Diesel trucks are pushing limits no one thought possible just a few years ago.
Along the way, we hit the dirt drags with everything from short bed Cummins on all terrains to four wheel drive trucks on paddles, proving that whether you are racing coworkers, lining up against dirt bikes, or just making passes for fun, the experience is what keeps this community alive. The builds held up, the dyno numbers impressed, and the dirt action kept the adrenaline flowing all weekend.
